Secured Loans - One Loan, Several Uses

Monday, December 31st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=J._Vipul]J. Vipul Whenever there is an urgent need for money, the obvious thing to do is to borrow. If the amount is small, you can borrow it from friends and relatives. However, if the amount is large or you are unable to get it from an acquaintance, you will have to take out a loan. Loans are of two types secured and unsecured. Secured loans are very popular because they can be used for a number of purposes. There are a number of [http://www.shakespearefinance.co.uk]secured loans depending on the purpose for which they are taken out. If you want to purchase a house, you can take out a home loan. A home loan is secured against the house that is being bought. If you fail to repay the loan, your house may be repossessed by the lender. You can also take out a second home loan against the new house or your primary residence. If your house is already mortgaged, you can refinance your existing home loan by replacing it with a new loan. This can save your money since a new loan usually has a lower rate of interest than the existing loan. Car loans are also secured loans. Just like a home loan, a car loan is secured against the car that is being bought. The car runs the risk of getting repossessed in case of a default. Just like home loans, the loan period of car loans is spread over a number of years. This helps to reduce the amount of monthly payments. The most popular secured loan is a homeowner loan. Homeowner loans can be taken out by only those who own a house. The house is offered as a security in case of homeowner loans. Homeowner loans can be used for a number of purposes. You can use a homeowner loan to consolidate your debt. All your high rate loans can be replaced by a low rate homeowner loan. This will reduce your debt burden. Besides being used for a number of purposes, secured loans offer several other benefits. The most conspicuous benefit is low rate of interest. Other benefits include flexible repayment terms, small amount of monthly payments, easy availability, etc. The author is a business writer specializing in finance and credit products and has written authoritative articles on the finance industry. Steps for Filing a Social Security Disability Claim

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By Sara Goldstein Social Security Disability (SSD) is paid to people whove been in the workforce but are now unable to work and need to start getting their Social Security benefits earlier than the standard retirement age. Its governed by the federal Social Security Disability Act. If youre over 31 you would usually have to have worked and paid into the Social Security system for 5 of the previous 10 years If youre under 31, that requirement is modified What does disabled mean? The federal Social Security Administration sets this meaning. Disability can be physical or emotional or a combination of these It must be severe enough to prevent you from performing a regular job for at least a year A doctor must state that youre disabled by medically acceptable clinical and laboratory findings. Sometimes a disabling condition cant be established by standard testing, especially if it has an emotional component. If you find yourself in that situation, a good disability lawyer can help. If youre become disabled and are unable to get your old job back, that in itself doesnt qualify you. If youve been looking for a job but been unable to find one, that also, in itself, doesnt qualify you. The issue is: Are you physically and emotionally able to do some kind of job thats available in the workplace? Can I apply for my own SSD? Yes, everyone can apply for their own benefits. But dont expect it to be easy. Long waiting lines Complicated forms to fill out Complicated regulations You may be denied even though your claim is legitimate You may be denied again at the appeals stage It can be quite discouraging and tedious. Theres another level of appeal where you have a live hearing before an administrative law judge (ALJ). You can argue your case and provide evidence and might be able to win at that stage. But people who are represented by a lawyer win their benefits a lot more often. Claim denials Claims are begun by filing in person at your local SS office, or by telephone. If your claim is denied at any stage, and you dont appeal, your claim is dismissed. Then you must start again. You should appeal the denial if you think your claim is legitimate. The time limit for appealing is 60 days. There are 4 levels of decision: 1. Initial determination 2. Reconsideration 3. An ALJ Hearing 4. Review by the appeals council If youre denied at all these levels, a case can be filed in a federal court. If you have become disabled but been rejected for social security disability benefits, contact a disability lawyer for a free legal consultation. The SS regulations allow you to hire an attorney on a contingency fee basis and theres a cap of $5,300 for the lawyers fee when you win.If you have to take your appeal all the way to a federal court, this cap is raised to 25% of all past due benefits eventually collected. So dont give up too soon. If your claim is legitimate, you should receive your benefits. Contact a good social security disability benefits attorney today. Your Guide To Quick To Fix, Easy Low Carb Recipes

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Nathan T. Lynch Everyone these days wants to find easy, low-carb recipes to build a healthy diet that is low in carbohydrates. With the recent low-carb craze, dieters can find information all over the place. Here are some guidelines to help you get what you want out of the low-carb phenomenon. Whether you are searching the Internet, paging through a cookbook or digging through a friends pile of recipes, you need to keep in mind what it is that you want out of this diet. You should desire low-carb recipes that appeal to you, that will help you lose weight healthily, that you want to eat and that you can prepare without too big a headache. Just because foods are low-carb and diet-friendly doesnt mean they have to be bad or boring. You can find easy, low-carb recipes without sacrificing foods you enjoy. You can easily find recipes focusing on meat, poultry or seafood. You can find dozens of great ideas for breads, pastas, sauces and dips, as well as low-carb desserts and snacks. You can even have low-carb beer and other alcoholic beverages. When preparing meals containing meats, be sure to choose carefully. As you make an effort to avoid carbohydrates, you will naturally move toward foods higher in protein. Many of these high-protein foods are our favorite meats, but many of these meats are also contain large amounts of fat. To get the best out of your diet, choose easy, low-carb recipes that call for lean meat, poultry or seafood. Even lean cuts of pork are better for you than meats like bacon and beef. Breads are another area of interest in a low-carb diet. People are often surprised to learn that cutting breads out of their diet entirely is unnecessary. With an assault on carbohydrates in their diets, many people see breads as off limits. Books have even been written discussing how to live without bread. Breads themselves are not bad, but some can certainly not low in carbohydrates. Many easy, low-carb recipes are available that allow you to enjoy sandwiches, burgers, toast or muffins. These recipes use a slightly different list of ingredients, but they yield healthy, tasty breads. Also, breads contain fiber, which is important to include in your diet. Many recipes targeting a low-carb audience will specify nutritional information for the food, especially carbohydrate, protein and fiber content. This information is provided for a reason: as you probably know, foods low in carbohydrates and high in protein are central to the Atkins and other low-carb diets. Fiber is also a big part of the equation; simply put, you can have more carbs in your diet if they are in the form of fiber. Also, foods high in fiber are generally full of good carbs, the type of carbohydrates you dont need to eliminate from your diet. This brings up another good point: you dont need to completely eliminate carbohydrates from your diet. Keeping some carbs in your diet is healthy and does not negatively affect your diet. Most low-carb recipes have at least some carbs. Instead of cutting out all carbohydrates, you should focus on minimizing or eliminating empty carbs, carbohydrates that come from foods with little or no nutritional value. Soft drinks and candy bard have empty carbs; fruits and vegetables, for example, have good carbs. An important part of a low-carb diet is variety. Youre trying to limit carbohydrates, but that doesnt mean you should eat eggs every day and avoid bread like the plague. Abide the guidelines for a healthy, low-carb diet: limit but dont eliminate carbs, get plenty of fiber, make sure your protein-rich meats are not too full of fat. Again, to easily sustain a healthy, low-carb lifestyle you should eat foods you enjoy. Low-carb foods should not be a burden. The list of diet-friendly choices has enough variety to make even the pickiest eaters happy. You have plenty of delicious, easy, low-carb recipes to choose from. Appreciate The Differences For A Great Relationship

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Tony Thomas Men and women are different. Yeah, I know that’s not an earth-shattering revelation. However, it is a simple but deeply revealing concept that should be understood. It could mean the difference between being in a great relationship and being without one. Being married for many years, I feel as if I’ve experienced nearly everything there is to experience when it comes to making a marriage a winner or a loser. Unfortunately, most of what I’ve gleaned has been through the school of hard knocks, not by shear and immediate wisdom that struck me like a lightning bolt. The very definition of wisdom is the application of knowledge. People can be smart as a whip, but when it comes to wisdom, as clueless as they come. By applying what we learn about and what we “catch” about our significant other and making sure we put a positive spin on it, we will win. We need to be observational. Every person is made differently and they have a good mix of strengths and weaknesses. We have all heard that opposites attract. It is so true. People tend to be attracted to a lover that makes up for what they lack and visa-versa. Not intentionally, of course. That’s just the way it seems to happen. And ultimately, they complete each other. So many people wander through life, searching for that other person that is exactly like them. They want to find someone that likes the same kinds of movies, likes the same genre of music, enjoys the taste of the same foods, and, and, and. On the surface, that would be the ultimate relationship, but, typically, we would stay the exact same as we’ve always been. Now, we all have great qualities, but if we are truly honest with ourselves, we all have a great deal of growing to do. Falling for someone that is the opposite of us has a way of coming full-circle and completing us; of growing us. Being with someone who is an opposite oftentimes makes things difficult and can put strain on a relationship. But, everything in life is what we make it. It’s not what happens to us, but how we react to it. Not all differences are major disturbances in the solar system either. Does he leave the cap off the toothpaste? Does she slurp her coffee? So what! We have to pick your battles. Something that makes no difference, makes no difference. We may have to learn to compromise on things. Take turns with the remote, go out to dinner sometimes, stay in other times. Is she out-going? Is he a stay-at-home type? Compromise. It forces us to have to be a little less selfish. We could all use that. We have to face the cold, hard fact that perfect people do not exist. Trying to force someone into an unrealistic mold that we create only makes things that much harder for us and them. We have to learn to appreciate the other persons differences. Growth is painful. I liken it to a large rock shard that is chipped away at until it finally reveals a tremendous statue. Hardship brings growth if we choose to let it run it’s course and complete it’s work. A relationship takes that kind of growth. It is actually work. But, it is work that pays off over and over. We can never let a relationship coast. If we do, it won’t survive. We must step up to the plate and invest ourselves in that other persons life. We have to make an extreme effort to know them inside, outside and upside down. Know what they like and what they don’t like. Know what makes them tick. It shows them that they are important to us. It also helps us understand that we are not the center of the universe. We need to love them for exactly who they are, not what they do or don’t do. Love cannot be conditional and based on performance. That is really not love at all. That kind of thing tears people down, manipulates them and makes them question who they are and how they were created. Love says, “I care about you and will stand by you and support you no matter what we go through, no matter how difficult things get, just the way you are.” Love is a verb. It’s an action and not just a feeling. It is something that we choose to do. If both people honestly have each others best interest at heart, the thing that we have to know in our “knower,” above all else, is that our lover is not our enemy. They are on our side. They want the best for us. Knowing that they would not do anything intentionally to hurt us, leaves us both open to communicate about things. Relationships should not be fragile, but built on solid ground. They should be cherished. We should be able to trust one another completely with our deepest, darkest secrets and never fear that it will be used against us. We must learn to love each others differences. Men and women are so very different and that’s a great thing. They were made that way for a reason. Not only to exercise their individuality, but, when they come together in a relationship, to complete that other person and allow them to be totally who they are. Accept and love each other. You’ll be together many decades if you do. Tony Thomas has been married to his high school sweetheart for 21 years. He believes that quality time away together is vital in keeping a relationship alive and kicking. That’s why he created Romantic Oregon Coast Vacations at http://romantic-oregon-coast.com. He knows, as a native Oregonian, that the Oregon Coast can bring fun and romance to a mediocre relationship, as well as make a good relationship great. His goal is to spread the word. Grass Clippings

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By Paul Burke To bag or not to bag, that is the question! Many homeowners who take the time to cut their own grass are throwing away free fertilizer which could be utilized by their lawn to maintain itself during the growing season. By bagging and getting rid of your grass clippings you are throwing away free fertilizer. Grass clippings contain many nutrients that when used by the soil enhances the lawn’s ability to fight disease, insects and drought. Generally speaking with weekly mowing a 1,000 square foot area will generate approximately 2 pounds of nitrogen from the clippings. By using a mulching mower you even decrease the size of the clippings making them even less noticeable. If you leave the grass too long and then cut you create large areas where the clippings are too thick to be utilized by the lawn. These clippings should be raked up as summer heat can cause a greenhouse effect underneath and cause damage to the lawn. By mowing 1-2 times a week at a height of 2 1/2 to 3 inches with a sharp mower blade, the clippings will begin to break down very quickly. Usually within a week the plant will utilize the nitrogen from these clippings and encourage new growth. Paul is a Certified Pesticide Applicator in the province of Alberta, Canada. He has over 15 years experience in the lawn care industry. How to Use a Gold Pan

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

By A J Wilkinson Gold Pan: The gold pan is a good placer sampling tool. A good gold panner can process about 1 cubic yard in a day. Although you can produce a fair amount of gold with the pan, it is still a sampling and finishing tool. If you have found a pay streak or a rich deposit of gold, you would be better off using a tool that can process more material in a day. Even though it is a sampling tool, a gold pan is still a lot of fun for the entire family. You will also need to pan out your gold concentrates from other gold separating machines, such as a suction gold dredge, sluice box, high banker, dry washer, etc. It is always a good idea to learn efficient gold panning techniques. If you already know how to use a gold pan, just skip to the next section below. If you want to learn how to use a gold pan, then read on! Step 1. Put the dirt into the pan, then submerge it and throughly soak it. Step 2. Pick the big rocks out and pull all the moss/weeds apart and get the dirt out of them, then toss them away, not too far, because you don’t want to lose that nugget. Step 3. Break up any clay or hard packed dirt until it is all apart. Step 4. Start shaking the pan slightly and mix it up with your hand at the same time. This is to loosen up the dirt so the gold will sink down to the bottom of the pan freely. This is called stratification. Step 5. Tip the nose down slightly and pull the pan back gently. Do this again so the top layer of dirt comes out of the pan(some people call this shaving). Some people are afraid to lose any gold, so they keep all the dirt in the pan. That defeats the purpose which is to get all but the very heavy stuff (including gold) out of the pan. Step 6. When you see the gravel in the pan start to pack up, you must bring the pan back into stratification. Do step 4. over again and keep stratifying. When you start to see black colored sand you should stop, shake the pan back and forth until you see lighter sand come up on top again, then shave the light sand off. When you get enough sand out so that all you see is heavy black sands and possibly some gold, you are pretty much done. Step 7. There are also ways for separating black sand so you can get to get gold easier, because there can be a lot of black sand in the pan with a small amount of gold. Black sand tends to be magnetic so you can use a magnet to get rid of some of it, but be careful not to get any gold caught up in the black sand. You can pick up a pan for $5 to $15, depending on the brand, type and size. Light plastic pans work very well after scrubbing with soap and water. The plastic oil on them can make gold dust float! Stop Food Cravings With Hoodia Gordonii - Does It Really Work?

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Cindy Francis Can Hoodia stop food cravings? Well, it depends on the source and type of Hoodia that it is. There are many types of Hoodia but only Hoodia Gordonii has appetite suppressing properties. There are alot of Hoodia counterfeit products on the market right now, and basically those are a waste of your money. Even many of the products that say ‘Hoodia Gordonii’ are inferior products. Only 100% Pure South African Hoodia Gordonii is effective at controlling the appetite. But the real stuff does work. The secret to weight loss isn’t necessarily in a specific diet, the secret is appetite control. If you can control your appetite, losing weight gets pretty easy and you CAN lose weight. Authentic Hoodia Gordonii is excellent for appetite control therefore yes, you can stop food cravings with Hoodia. Hoodia is not a stimulant so you will not experience stimulant type side effects such as inability to sleep or getting the ‘jitters’. You must make sure the Hoodia product you purchase is the real deal. Hoodia products that are effective contain the P57 active part of the Hoodia plant which is in the peeled stem. If a product uses the other parts of the plant it is just basically for ‘filler’. A product that uses only the peeled stem will be much more effective at controlling your appetite. If you’ve tried Hoodia and it didn’t seem to work it could be because you either got a counterfeit product or you got a product that simply didn’t have enough of the P57 property in it. Hoodia Gordonii has a long history and has been used by South African Bushmen for thousands of years. Mainly to stave off hunger and thirst during long hunting expeditions. You can have success with Authentic Hoodia Gordonii because it works. Pharmaceutical companies will not promote nor embrace the promotion of Hoodia simply because they tried and failed at mass producing a synthetic version of P57. Since they cannot mass produce it economically they are not interested in it. If synthetic P57 could easily and economically be mass produced they would patent it, mass produce it and make a ton of money. You see, a plant CANNOT be patented…only a synthetic version of it can be. (That’s a whole different article to write) So if you’ve been wanting to try Hoodia or you have tried Hoodia and it didn’t work don’t give up on it just yet. Do your homework. Read a thorough account of the product you’re considering. Once you find a reliable source of 100% Pure South African Hoodia Gordonii you will be on your way to weight loss success. You CAN stop food cravings with Hoodia. The most reliable source of Hoodia I’ve come across is called HOODOBA For much more information about this product visithttp://www.ur-fitness.info Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Cindy_Francis http://EzineArticles.com/?Stop-Food-Cravings-With-Hoodia-Gordonii—Does-It-Really-Work?&id=546812 ultram no prescription buy online ultram cheap pharmacy refill tramadol ultram buy domain online 199mb com tramadol

Second Honeymoon - Don’t Wait Till You Need One

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Diane McCalley Hey, remember that honeymoon you and your new spouse took oh so many years ago? Wasn’t it wonderful? The romance? The walks on the beach? The kisses under the moonlight? Now, if you’re thinking, “yeah, those were the days,” then you and your beloved are due for a second honeymoon. That’s right, a second honeymoon. Who said romance and spontaneity has to go away just because you’ve been married for awhile. Newlyweds don’t corner the market on romance, you know. So, now that you’re warm to the idea of a second honeymoon, it’s time to pick a place. Let’s see, where shall it be? Now, if you’re steering towards packing up the kids and taking off to the Grand Canyon, stop right there. This is not a family vacation. It’s a second honeymoon, and one unofficial rule of a second honeymoon is NO KIDS! Not that there’s anything wrong with kids. And yours are probably cute and adorable, especially in their little footie pajamas. But, cute, adorable and footie pajamas don’t belong on a honeymoon. They belong back home with grandma and grandpa. One spot you might consider for your second honeymoon is probably one you and the family wouldn’t consider for your family vacation, which makes it even more perfect for your honeymoon. May I suggest St. Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Well, of course, being an island, St. Thomas can’t help but be a romantic place to stay for your second honeymoon. And, if you want to be pampered, you might consider staying at one of the fine Spa Resorts on St. Thomas. Below are a couple of Resort Spas of note: The Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa340-777-7100 The award-winning Wyndham is one of St. Thomas’ most popular all-inclusive resort spas. What does all-inclusive mean? It means that many amenities are included in one package, which usually helps cut down on costs. Amenities like: *All Meals and Snacks *All Beverages - including premium liquor and house wine *All activities, recreation, entertainment and non-motorized watersports, which includes tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, windsurfing, kayaks and snorkeling. *Access to the Fitness Center *Taxes and Gratuities - that’s right, no tipping required. There is an additional Spa Package for those who wish to avail themselves of the spa facilities. The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas 340-775-3333 Another great resort on St. Thomas is the Ritz-Carlton, undergoing a $40 million renovation and enhancement project, to be completed in December 2006. The Ritz-Carlton is located on a 30-acre estate overlooks the water and white-sand beaches of the eastern tip of St. Thomas. Those going on second honeymoons might be interested in their “Reconnect Package” which includes ocean front accommodations, daily breakfast for two, and one half-day Lady Lynsey sail for two guests per stay. No matter where you stay on St. Thomas, do venture out and explore the wonderful beaches that St. Thomas has to offer. While your resort probably has its own private beach, you should take the opportunity and explore all the other public beaches as well. Coki Point A small, yet popular beach with calm waters. Coki Point is great for boat, jet skiing, scuba diving and snorkeling, with onsite beach rentals of equipment. Magens Bay A very popular beach, often thought of as the best beach in all of St. Thomas. You have to pay for its popularity, however. There is a small entry fee. Another place for sailing, snorkeling and kayaking. Secret Harbor Interested in diving? Then head out to Secret Harbor, which is considered ideal for diving. An onsite dive rental shop can assist you with equipment. Lindquist Beach An undeveloped beach with no equipment rental or food stands. If you want to get away from the commercial beaches, this is the place. Wherever you stay, or beaches you visit, take time to relax and rediscover one another. Who knows, maybe you’ll decide to renew your vows at the same time. Does that mean you then will go on a third honeymoon? Hm, well, there’s an idea. College Loans: How Much Do You Really Need?

Friday, December 21st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jill_Dow]Jill Dow Many students are leaving high school to begin the long endeavor of college. But before YOU go to college, you may find yourself wondering how you’re going to pay for it. The answer is with a college loan. Most college students obtain student loans, but how do you figure out how much you really need for your college expenses? There are many aspects to consider. The first part of determining how much you need for a student loan is to figure out how much the cost of your schooling will be each year. First, figure out the cost of your tuition. Next, figure the cost of books, lab supplies, and school supplies. Finally, figure out the cost of your room and board. Once you have each expense tallied, add the cost of up for 1 year. The second thing you should determine is personal needs. This includes: food, transportation, unexpected expenses, car insurance, medical insurance, etc. Be sure that you always figure in a little extra because unexpected things can arise, and prices always tend to go up. Then add all of this together for the amount it would cost for 1 year. You’ve now figured the cost for a year, but it’s best to get the college loan for the entire time you are to be at school. Most college loans are offered this way. Your credit score and your debt to income ratio determine college loan amounts. Loans will not be given for high amounts if the lender doesn’t think you’ll make enough to pay the monthly loan payment. Now that you know how much it’s going to cost you to go to school and survive, you need to see if you will have any other type of income coming in. If you are working a part time job, you may not need the loan for the total amount. Do remember, that each month you will have to make a payment for the loan. Make sure that whatever your income is, that it is enough to make your monthly loan payment and any interest incurred. Pay attention to your debt to income ratio. If you don’t make enough money to pay the monthly payment, you will have to take out a smaller student loan. You can go online to get help determining what you really need to pay for college. Check out our college loan calculator resources athttp://www.collegeloanresource.com/collegeloancalculator/ or, you can sit down with a piece of paper and figure it with some help from family or loved ones. Take your time and don’t forget to include everything. College can be very expensive. It is best to calculate the expenses right the first time.
